Walk 4 Hope
Walk to Fight Suicide
Saturday, September 30, 2023, Bonham, Texas
We walk to remember. We walk to support. We walk to prevent. We walk with hope.
Raising funds to support suicide prevention and behavioral health programs in Fannin County, Texas.
About
2023 is the 2nd Annual Fannin Walk 4 Hope
The Fannin Walk 4 Hope is a 2.5 mile walk around the beautiful Legacy Ridge golf course. All funds benefit the Fannin Behavioral Health Leadership Team, which sponsors and promotes mental health and suicide prevention programs in Fannin County.
The 2022 event was a big success with over 270 walkers and $19,100 raised! A huge thank you to our sponsors, speakers, honor bead participants, volunteers and, of course, all of our wonderful walkers.
History
In 2015, the Glaser family lost their beloved 16 year-old Savanna to suicide. They wanted to spare other families this grief by raising awareness for suicide prevention and providing an event for healing and hope.
Through the sponsorship of the Glaser Family Charitable Foundation, the walk began in 2016 as an Out of the Darkness walk benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The walk has raised $109,000 since its inception.
In 2022, the Glaser family decided to allow the Fannin Behavioral Health Leadership Team to sponsor the walk so that all proceeds remain in Fannin County directly benefiting our residents. The event was renamed the Fannin Walk 4 Hope with the format remaining very similar to prior years.
