The 2024 walk will be held on September 28 in Bonham, Texas, and registration will open on August 1.

We walk to remember. We walk to support. We walk to prevent. We walk with hope.

Raising funds to support suicide prevention and behavioral health programs in Fannin County, Texas.

2023 was the 2nd Annual Fannin Walk 4 Hope

The Fannin Walk 4 Hope is a 2.5 mile walk around the beautiful Legacy Ridge golf course. All funds benefit the Fannin Behavioral Health Leadership Team, which sponsors and promotes mental health and suicide prevention programs in Fannin County.

The 2023 event was a big success with over 280 walkers and $19,200 raised! A huge thank you to our sponsors, speakers, honor bead participants, volunteers and, of course, all of our wonderful walkers.

In 2015, the Glaser family lost their beloved 16 year-old Savanna to suicide. They wanted to spare other families this grief by raising awareness for suicide prevention and providing an event for healing and hope.

Through the sponsorship of the Glaser Family Charitable Foundation, the walk began in 2016 as an Out of the Darkness walk benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The walk has raised $128,000 since its inception.

In 2022, the Glaser family decided to allow the Fannin Behavioral Health Leadership Team to sponsor the walk so that all proceeds remain in Fannin County directly benefiting our residents. The event was renamed the Fannin Walk 4 Hope with the format remaining very similar to prior years.

By the Numbers

The Numbers

Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among young people. Every year in the U.S., more people die by suicide than in car accidents, and more suicide deaths occur than homicide and AIDS deaths combined.

For every one person who dies by suicide annually, 316 people seriously consider suicide.

Fannin County

Fannin County consistently has one of the highest suicide rates in the state of Texas, and it is well above the national average.
